My Approach

My approach is unique because I place priority on getting to the root of your issues. Due to my work as a child therapist, I have firsthand experience treating the developmental factors that often lie behind adults' mental health problems. While my approach is integrative, I draw heavily from psychodynamic perspectives of change.

This means that, in session, we'll take an open-ended approach that examines the patterns that pervade your life and get in the way of your happiness. Psychodynamic theory suggests that experiences in our early history continue to influence our present-day relationships, often outside of our awareness. Therapy with me will allow you to reflect on your unmet childhood needs so you can learn to take care of yourself.

I don't put a timeline on your change process, and I recognize that deep-seated, habitual ways of interacting in the world don't go away overnight. If you are committed to working on your issues at a deeper level, then I am committed to accompanying you on this path.
